Wind Turbines

The threat of fire is an ever- present part of modern wind farm operations. A lightning strike, sparks from moving parts, an oil leak – all can cause a serious fire. By the time emergency crews reach the site, the damage is already done. A fire can result in up to 12 months of downtime* and the total loss of the wind turbine. Over the next 5 years, experts predict that over 40,000 new wind turbines will be installed in the US alone. As wind projects are developed increasingly closer to population centers, fire protection of wind turbine nacelles will become increasingly important. KEVTA Fire Systems  can provide complete wind farm fire protection: wind turbines (nacelles), substations and communication trenches.
