New User VessFire Course

Petrell will hold a VessFire course for new users on 14th and 15th February 2012. The course will be held in Trondheim. VessFire is a simulation program for time-dependent non-linear analysis of thermo-mechanical response during blow-down of process segments and process equipment exposed and unexposed to fire. VessFire has been used by many of the major energy producers and engineering firms, including Aker, AMEC, ConocoPhillips, Gaz de France, Petrofac, SBM Offshore, Statoil and Talisman.

The course agenda will be:

Day 1

  • Introduction to the subject
  • Standards
  • Blowdown calculation procedure
  • Heat load and duration
  • Acceptance criteria
  • Theoretic basis
  • Example: calculation results
  • The VessFire user interface
  • Practical exercise using Vessfire

Day 2: Test case

  • Familiarisation with the case
  • Clarifying any limiting conditions
  • Technical Information for input
  • Matrix set up of required simulations
  • Simulations
  • Results analysis
  • Report

The course costs NOK 10 800 per person, and there are only a limited number of spaces available. To sign up for the course, please contact us on: debbie@petrell.no
